Waterfowl gets a boost from Ducks Unlimited
December banquet raises $15,000
Diners had a good time while raising money
for waterfowl improvement and conservation projects Wednesday, Dec. 13 in
the Sawtooth Room at Elkhorn Resort.
The 24th annual Wood River Chapter Ducks
Unlimited Banquet raised an estimated $15,000, much of which will go to
the national DU organization for projects including wetlands
rehabilitation.
Some 120 people attended.
Chairpersons were Jason Roth and Lorraine
Wilcox.
Others on the DU Committee 2000 were Tamra
Thorne, Ron Wilcox, Nancy Gove, Ron Garrison, Jay Garnet
"Goose," Rufus Brown, Annette Goicoechea and Steve Hall.
Ron Wilcox said, "Elkhorn did a great
job and were very professional. We were extremely happy with them."
The live auction included a Ducks Unlimited
framed print entitled "Waiting at Crow Creek," by Dennis Minor.
Other auction items were goose blinds,
picks of decoys, shotguns, a snowboard, catered dinner for eight with
wine, hunting and yurt trips and another DU framed print, "Backwater
Green Wings."
A raffle and silent auction jazzed up the
fun evening.
Chapter donors at the upper level are Ted

At the next level are Headwaters, Paul
Kenny Sports, Craig Eberle, Sutton & Sons Auto Center and Watkins
Distributing.
