Its a tie: Coin toss needed to decide school board election
Longtime Blaine County School District Trustee Lita
Sullivan and challenger Gary Stivers, a local newscaster, each received 49 votes in
yesterdays school board election.
"This has never happened in Blaine County," district clerk Cathy
Zaccardi said last night during a telephone call after the election. "With all
weve been through this year with elections, this is unbelievable."
Sullivan is the school boards chairperson.
Zaccardi said the Hailey Zone 2 tie will be broken with a coin
tossas mandated by Idaho lawat the June 13 school board meeting.
Kate Parnes was unopposed for reelection to the five-member board.
