Ski the Rails cross-country ski tour along the Wood River Trails system from Ketchum to Hailey begins at 10 a.m., sponsored by the Blaine County Recreation District. Shuttle buses available from Sun Valley Brewery in Hailey starting at 9:30 a.m. Lunch there from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. 788-2117 for details.

Prairie Creek Snowmaker cross-country classic (diagonal) ski race sponsored by The Elephant’s Perch of Ketchum begins at 11 a.m. at the Prairie Creek trail system north of Ketchum. Registration at 10 a.m. Entry fee $10 per person, half going to North Valley Trails. Distances are 15 kilometers, 7.5k and 2k for kids.

Craters of the Moon in Winter A workshop with 45 mins. of classroom session then several hours in the park on snowshoes with a park naturalist to learn how life copes with winter. 11 pairs of snowshoes available. Limited to 15 people 10 years or older. The hike will vary form easy to moderately strenuous and cover between 3 and 4 miles. Lunch will be eaten on the trail.
