Blaine Manor wish list

By MARILYN BAUER
Express Staff Writer

Blaine Manor’s New Year’s resolution could very well be written as: In 1999 we will want to become a more integral part of the Wood River Valley community.

"Our residents have contributed a lot in their lifetime, said activities coordinator Barbara Ebbs, "and now we’d like to get the community more involved contributing to the residents."

Ebbs, along with nursing home manager, Tina Purcell would like to invite everyone in the Wood River Valley to become involved with the residents of the manor.

Currently they are recruiting volunteers to lead exercise groups, read to residents and visit those whose relatives are gone or live far away. They would also like to invite any performing group to come to Blaine Manor to entertain.

Just in time for Christmas, the staff has provided a wish list both for the residents and for the facility. Any gift you would like to give should be dropped off at the Hailey location, wrapped or unwrapped. Purcell and Ebbs will do the rest.

Residents have requested: perfume, lotion, bath accessories, shampoo and conditioner, knee socks, chocolates, slippers, sweatsuits, candy, cotton and flannel nightgowns, nail polish, potato chips, flavored instant coffee, after shave, T-shirts, books on tape, music tapes, yarn for crocheting, tape recorder with headphones, bathrobes, playing cards, drawing pad and pencils, bedside fan, and video comedies.

For the facility, the staff needs a computer, but most importantly your time.

For more information on how to give, contact Blaine Manor at 788-7180.
