Chamber salutes Flower Festival winners

1998 contest held in July


The Sun Valley/Ketchum Chamber of Commerce has announced the winners of the 1998 Flower Festival contest.

Volunteer judges Sharon Ikaunieks, Pam Ritzau and chamber director Carol Waller spent the afternoon and evening of July 16 driving around the resort area reviewing displays at local businesses.

According to Waller, the Chamber organizes the annual contest as a way of recognizing the effort put forth by business owners and managers into beautifying the community.

This year’s awards were given to the following businesses by category:

Restaurants

Best Use of Space: 1—The Kneadery. 2—Sawtooth Club. 3—Louie’s Pizza and Italian Restaurant.

Bold & Simple: 1—Christina’s. 2—Desperados. 3—Evergreen Restaurant.

Best Effort: 1—Otter’s. 2—Smoky Mountain Pizza & Pasta. 3—Java.

Garden Design: 1—Felix’s at the Knob Hill Inn. 2—Christina’s. 3—Chandler’s.

Light Industrial

Bold & Simple: 1—S&C Wines. 2—Houston Lumber. 3—KLM.

Best Effort: 1—Sun Valley Cleaners. 2—Northwood Storage. 3—Antiques (McMeeken).

Professional Buildings

Best Use of Space: 1—Bank of America. 2—Sun Valley Family Practice. 3—Warm Springs Realty.
