WRHS Homecoming Week continues at Wood River High School in Hailey. Today, student barbecue featuring entertainment by the high school band, and senior slave auction.

Blaine County Senior Citizens Center noon meal, oven fried chicken with pasta salad, buttered beets, hot rolls and banana cake. Board meeting today.

Wood River Invitational Cross Country the 30th annual prep running meet at Adams Gulch north of Ketchum begins at 4:30 p.m. Hosted by the WRHS cross country team and including runners from several schools, among them The Community School of Sun Valley.

WRHS Girls Soccer home varsity game against Wendell at 5:30 p.m. at South Valley Sports Complex, Hailey.

Thursday, Sept. 10

WRHS Homecoming Week continues at Wood River High School in Hailey. Powder puff football assembly at 1 p.m.

WRHS Girls JV Soccer home junior varsity game against the Minico Spartans at 5:30 p.m. at South Valley Sports Complex, Hailey.

Friday, Sept. 11

Idaho Governor’s Cup Golf Tournament the 24th annual two-day tournament opens at the Sun Valley and Elkhorn golf courses, through Saturday. Hosted by Idaho Gov. Phil Batt, the tournament helps provide Idaho students with scholarships to obtain vocational/technical educations at Idaho colleges and universities. Golf and social events.

"The Big Guys" Sun Valley Rod Run & Cruise hot rods and custom car enthusiasts are coming to Sun Valley for three days, starting today through Sunday. Sports cars to 4x4 trucks, American and foreign. All enthusiasts welcome. If it runs on wheels, you’re invited to register.

Saturday, Sept. 12

20th Annual Baldy Hill Climb hosted by the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation with all proceeds to junior ski racing teams. Register 7:30-9:30 a.m. on race day at the Engl Training Center, base of Baldy. Ride shuttle from River Run parking lot to Warm Springs. Hikers start 9 a.m., racers 10 a.m. Entry $15 for 14-and-older, $10 for 13-and-younger.

Canine Good Citizen Day and First Annual Fun Match at Lions Park in Hailey, sponsored by the Bald Mountain Kennel Club of Idaho. Conformation and obedience judging begins 10:30 a.m. with entries accepted from 8:30-10 a.m.To promote well-behaved dogs on trails. Pets will be tested on 10 skills and if they pass they get a canine good citizen tag. Special guest star: Elise Lufkin author of Found Dogs will sign copies of her book Entry fee; $5.
