In other Fourth of July notes from the Chamber office:

There were over 70 entries in this year’s parade, including Miss Rodeo Idaho; Dawn Bradshaw and Amanda Archibald sang the National Anthem to open the parade; Troop 6 volunteered to carry the colors; and U.S. Marine Laurie Jolley was the American flag bearer.

Parade announcer was Wendell Johnson, who pledged to return next year as well; Idaho Lumber donated the truck where the judges sat; and scaffolding and manpower provided by Mike Chase helped with the announcer stand.

"We’d like to see more f loats for next year’s parade," said Hanson. "And music! Put music on your float.

"Thanks to Linda and Curtis Chambers for taking on the parade in the midst of selling their house, trying to find a rental and then moving—all in the week prior to the Fourth."
